Ealing regional park to grow into West London Regional Park
Ealing are in discussion with the National Trust, Hounslow and Brent on new park which could stretch from Osterley to Hendon

Ealing’s plan to create a new regional park has evolved into a plan for a West London Regional Park following conversations with Hounslow, Brent and the National Trust. The park would link green spaces across the three boroughs and follow the River Brent to the Brent Reservoir and its surrounding green spaces.
Councillor Blerina Hashani, cabinet member for thriving communities told Ealing Council’s May cabinet meeting: “The conversations have happened organically with the boroughs of Brent and Hounslow and the National Trust. We are looking to soldify these conversations. This is a very ambitious plan and it will serve the communities of west London and London more widely.”
The cabinet agreed to authorise the strategic director for economy and stability to progress plans to expand the regional park beyond the borough boundaries and enter into partnership agreements with partner organisations.
The West London Regional Park plan has emerged from the Ealing Regional Park concept plan which was developed in partnership with architects Prior and Partners, partners in the creation of the site for the 2012 London Olympic Games. The plan envisaged a park including eight kilometres of linked green spaces following the course of the River Brent from Horsenden Hill in the north of the borough to Warren Farm in the south.
Warren Farm naturally links to Osterley Park although the B454 and the M4 cut through the green space. The River Brent links Ealing to Boston Manor Park and Syon Park in Brentford. In the north, the River Brent leads to Brent River Park and Brent Reservoir.
Ealing Council has spent £675,000 on the park project so far which also includes the opening of Pear Tree Park. The council has bid for funds money from the Nature Towns and Cities Fund to deliver a business plan, a governance review and detailed designs for the regional park trail.
